TENCEL™ Lyocell Fibre production process
Most of our products are made with 100% TENCEL™ Lyocell fiber in some cases due to product requirement, 4-8% spandex or lycra is mixed with the fabric. TENCEL™ Lyocell is a regenerated cellulosic fibre derived from wood which is grown sustainably in the forests of Austria and its neighbouring countries.
The entire production process works on the principle of dissolving and processing the wooden pulp derived from wood in a closed loop system without any chemical derivatization. The process uses an organic solvent namely N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) which helps to dissolve the pulp without causing any chemical change.
The highly efficient technology helps recover 99% solvent which is then put back into the production system. This close loop production system is completely environmentally responsible and uses either natural gas or bioenergy to further reduce its ecological footprint.
To add to it all, there is a REFIBRA™ technology also in place. REFIBRA™ is a new technology by TENCEL™ which proudly stands for “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”.Much like SuRC’s core beliefs, the technology supports a circular economy and reduces dependency on natural resources by using upcycled materials (cotton scraps from garment production) .
Apparel manufacturing process
To ensure elimination of usage of harmful chemicals and dyes during the apparel manufacturing process, we have tied up with Huntsman who through their motto of enriching lives through innovation have developed eco friendly dyes and chemicals. The color retention technology of these dyes help retain color for up to 20 washes and protects our garments from the sun efficiently which helps you have clothes with lasting colors.Get SuRC, it’s good on you!
